Our Course 

Overview

This course equips experienced group fitness instructors with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely design and lead high-intensity functional fitness (HIFIT) classes for adults aged 50 and over. The course is based on current research evidence and best practices for exercise prescription in older adults, with a focus on safety, modifications, and optimizing function.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the physiological changes of aging and their impact on exercise.

  • Recognize and modify workouts for common health conditions in older adults.

  • Apply evidence-based principles to improve strength, mobility, and endurance in a safe, effective manner.

  • Implement strategies to enhance balance, cognition, and functional independence.

  • Develop and teach safe and effective HIFIT workouts tailored to a 50+ population.
